"Cache" in on Faith

Have you ever gone Geo-caching? You get your coordinates, latitude and longitude, and off you go! Except apparently, your target mark could be 50 feet off in any direction! It was pretty awesome, however, to watch our youth group find all 5 of our hidden treasures ($7 Spin Gift Cards)! The first one was in a tree in the back yard of the church. The second one was in a crack at the bottom of a wall on the back of the church. The third one was in the balcony of the church, stuck between the ceiling panels. The fourth was in a field near the cemetery across the street. The fifth was down the street, hidden on the church directional sign. Congratulations to all who hoped for treasure and found it!

Our Bible study on faith began with Hebrews 11:1. It says faith is the substance of things hoped for but unseen. Faith is all about hope, but hope in what exactly? It's difficult sometimes to find the right coordinates for faith, isn't it? As Christians, what should we have faith in? Paul says in Galatians 2:20 that he lived by faith in Jesus. Our faith shouldn't be targeted on a thing, but on a person. 1 Corinthians 2:5 says our faith shouldn't be in our own wisdom, but in the power of God. In other words, God's Word is telling us this: "It's not the greatness of our faith that matters, but the greatness of the One in Whom we have faith."

We know that electricity exists, although we don't actually see it. We know it exists because we see the results of its power. The same is true with God! Plug into His power, and your hope will not be disappointed. God knows how to deliver!
