Caleb Jackson is an incredible long-distance dart thrower. He popped the almost-too-far-away balloon not once, not twice, but three times! Of course we had plenty of fuel to try this incredible feat after feasting on some delicious make-your-own pizzas. We even had enough time to plaster one another with our indoor snowball fight. Gotta do that again!
All led up to our Bible study under the Christmas tree lights. Talking about "Victorious Living" helped us refocus again on just exactly how we do live victoriously. Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection is the key for you and for me. That display of love by God is where our victory is found! He gives us salvation up front, free of charge if we accept that. He takes us just as we are, gives us assurance of salvation, and then promises to work in our lives to help us with all the things we don't like about ourselves. As He works in our lives, we sometimes fall - occasionally fail - but that doesn't determine whether or not we are victorious. It's keeping our eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) and staying connected to Him that keeps us in the mindset of victory. If we have been too focused and afraid because of our failures, it's time to burst that bubble once and for all. Find your freedom IN and focus ON Jesus!
I'll be away in two weeks, but keep an eye on the calendar for plenty of fun stuff coming up! And get ready for a new-calendar roll-out coming soon for 2019! It's going to be fantastic!
