2 Meetings Recap and Upcoming Fun!
Updated: Oct 16, 2018
We've had two meetings since the last update. We had bread bowl soup on October 3 and then made dried spaghetti and marshmellow towers - congratulations Ruben for the victory! The best part of the night was talking about how to "Heal from Hurt" as we looked at Psalm 147:3 which says God "heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds." It takes time for wounds to heal, especially emotional ones, but it also takes the intervention of a Savior who will tenderly nurse our wounds until healing has taken place.
On October 10 we had make-your-own pizza and then sent teams of 2 and teams of 3 to search a very dark church basement for a murder victim (a cute stuffed pig) and a murder weapon (a plastic spatula)! Don't worry parents, it was all for a spiritual purpose! Our Bible study was on "Patience with People." Sometimes our words can hurt others (Jesus said if we hate our brother we are guilty of murder) and we leave people feeling as good as dead when we lose our patience with them. But in our game we remembered the two things that helped navigate the darkness: 1. The light of our cellphones (which represents the light of God's Word) and 2. Our friends. Patience is greatly honored in the Bible and God wants to equip us with this amazing fruit of the Spirit to help ourselves and help others get through this dark world. Patience makes us strong! Remember that Proverbs 16:32 says, "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city."
Hope to see you this Saturday night the 20th we're going to Pheasant Fields Farm Farm to navigate a corn maze in the dark. Hope to see you (or at least try to with a flashlight) soon!
